Recruitment of potential officers of the Slovak Information Service is the job of specialized departments of the Service.


Human Resources Requirements

Every officer of the Slovak Information Service must meet the qualification requirement regarding education - either secondary education completed with a final exam or a university education.

In order to get a job in the Slovak Information Service the applicant must meet the requirements defined by the Section 14 of the Act 73/1998 Coll. He/she must demonstrate the administrative-legal and necessary expert qualification, physical, mental and personal predispositions for the execution of the job in the Slovak Information Service. The suitability of the applicant is verified by a series of challenging tests and examinations.

All applicants for positions in the Slovak Information Service must be aware of the fact that upon joining the Service they will take the following loyalty oath:

"I solemnly declare that I will be loyal to the Slovak Republic. I will be an honourable, courageous, disciplined and impartial member of the Slovak Information Service. I will fulfil my service duties to the best of my abilities, and in my actions I will abide by the constitution, constitutional laws, ordinary laws and other generally binding legal regulations, and I will defend the constitutional order of the Slovak Republic and the rights of its citizens. I am prepared to devote all my energy and abilities and even risk my life. This I pledge!"


Restrictions

The Slovak Information Service cannot employ an applicant who is not physically or mentally fit, who is not reliable and has not a clean criminal record, who is not motivated, was found guilty of a wilful criminal act, who doesn't speak the official language, and who is not a permanent resident of the Slovak Republic or who has a dual citizenship.

Once the applicant enters the state service as an officer of the Slovak Information Service he/she is not permitted to be a member of any political party or a movement, to be involved in entrepreneurial or business activities, nor to be a member of supervisory and control bodies of legal entities carrying out business activities.
